Pre Requisites:
- Create a backup of all the data with the help of below mentioned steps and not with the Samsung KIES as your device may not detect with the KIES after applying this update as till now this update might not have arrived for your
- Enable the USB Debugging from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging” and also you will have to ensure that the minimum battery life should be 30% so as to ensure that the phone doesn’t get turned Off in the middle of update. Disable / uninstall all the security suites installed in your phone.
- Ensure that “Unknown sources” from Settings is enabled and also “Verify apps via USB” option in Developer Mode is Disabled.
Root Verizon Galaxy S4 on VRUAMD2 Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware:
- Before proceeding, make sure that your phone is on VRUAMD2 firmware. To check, you need to head over to the path “Settings > More > About Device > Baseband Version”.
- Download the Rooting Package or India Download Click Here and Odin or India Download Click Here from here to your computer and extract both the files in your computer.
- Open Odin in your computer and turn Off your device so that it can be entered in the Download Mode. The download mode in Galaxy S4 can be entered by pressing Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Now, a Warning message will be shown when you need to press the Volume Up key to continue entering the Download Mode.
- Connect your Galaxy S4 to the computer with the help of original USB cable and select the file which you got after extracting the PDA zip package.
- Once selected, click on “START” for starting the process of rooting. Once the device is rooted, the phone will be rebooted.
- To check on whether your phone is rooted or not, you can check the same from the “Root Checker” app from the Google PLAY Store.
